Professional Background
TIAS Project Counseling is based on a variety
of educational and healing systems such as Clinical Sexology, Tantra, and Huna. We combine these traditions with the requirements

I
hope the following information will assist you. Education:
I am certified in Sex Education through the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality (IASHS) in San Francisco.
I just finished requirements for my Certificate in Clinical Sexology, and will gain an additional specialty in Erotology,
as I complete my Doctor of Human Sexuality (DHS) degree by June, 2008.
In August 2006, I received a California Certified Sexological Bodyworker certificate through IASHS. This certificate
course was a concentrated experiential and academic investigation of a somatic approach to sexology. This was a profound experience
and vitally useful. However, please note: I have not included bodywork in my practice.
Academically and as a clinical sexologist, I have a special interest in Asperger's Syndrome, aging,
and traditional Native Hawaiian practices.
My background also includes a degree in women's health and history and a
certificate in non-profit fund raising.
Relevant Professional Background:
My work in the area of human sexuality and reproduction includes two years as a pregnancy counselor in a free clinic,
also doula training and work as a post-partum care provider.
I have also served as president of the Environmental Health Network (of CA).

Spiritual
Inspiration: As a "sacred sexologist," the spiritual and cultural traditions of Hawai'i are my main inspiration. I am
also influenced by Tibetan Buddhist and Hindu Tantra traditions. I am presently pioneering a new form of Huna focused on issues
and questions of human sexuality.
As an amateur student of Hawaiiana, I study hula, ho'oponopono, lomilomi massage,
and beginning conversational 'olelo Hawai'i (Hawaiian language).
I have studied Tantra privately, and currently I'm
a Level Two practitioner of Ipsalu Tantra. I have co-sponsored two Ipsalu Level One workshops.
I have published articles
on a variety of topics and regularly contributes to several blogs. I have a novel on the back burner.

I designed this logo. It depicts a lei of flame,
surrounding a lotus. The drop at the top of the lei is amrit, a sacred nectar released during tantric practices.
