Asperger's Syndrome & Sexuality
Finding specialized sex education and relationship
training is almost impossible, yet the need is great! The TIAS Project is working to create such programs for adults with
Asperger's Syndrome. At the moment, my work is limited to individuals and couples, as successful outcomes for Aspies and their
partners are more likely to occur in this format.

If you and/or your partner are diagnosed with Asperger's
Syndrome or "high functioning" Autism, or if you think you or your partner share some of the traits of these conditions, you
need:
- Counseling suited to your learning style.
- Accommodation for any sensory issues or learning differences that may have an impact on your ability to attend and prosper
in a session.
- A program which encourages and accepts your self-advocacy.
- Accurate and orderly communication and information pertaining to sexuality, intimacy and emotional exchanges in relationships.
- Attention to your specific requirements, interests, and needs, without neurotypical bias.
- A learning environment that is safe, ethical, sex-positive and non-judgmental.
The Right Kind of Tantra
Tantra serves both as a tradition of spiritual transformation
and as a modern "technology" of relationship practices which promote exchanges of intimacy and joy.
In addition, Tantra traditions incorporate "protocols" or "ground rules" for intimate interaction in a safe (or "sacred")
space. Such advance agreements and the setting aside of a safe space help the Aspie partner manage specific practices and
interactions within an agreed upon framework. With few "surprises" for the Aspie partner, successful interactions are more
likely. The care taken to set protocols and limits helps to foster qualities of mutual respect and reverence for each learner
and intimate partner.
In counseling and instruction I focus mainly on the adaptibility and practical application of tantric practices to the
sensory and emotional requirements and learning specifications of people with Asperger's Syndrome.
My mission is to enable neurodiverse lovers to create interactions with their partners which are mutually loving, respectful
and healing.

The Right Kind of Sex & Relationship Education
Sexological Counseling (Clinical Sexology) provides
sexually supportive, nonjudgmental, accurate assistance and education.
In addition to basic information about sexual development and reproduction,
counseling and education can include attitudes and beliefs about sexuality, most common social "rules" of sexual behavior
and ethics, sexual identity issues, sexual diversity and acceptance, contraception, sexual behavior, safe and responsible
sex practices, and ways to communicate sexual issues and negotiate with partners.
TIAS Project Counseling focuses on supporting clients in improving
their sexual expression and relationships. It is usually short-term, often consisting of four to eight sessions. Clients are
encouraged and supported in addressing all issues of sexual concern, and recieve specific information and suggestions for
making improvements.
Sexological counseling is not psychotherapy or medical treatment, though it can serve a complimentary
function. It does not provide diagnosis of any condition. If you need diagnosis or medical services, please see an appropriate
professional as well.
